Magnesium body and rotor: This reel has magnesium body, sideplate, and rotor that are durable and lightweight and can withstand many years of saltwater fishing, provided it’s maintained with a quick clean water rinse after every fishing trip.
Aluminum spool: It comes with a double- anodized aluminum spool for corrosion resistance and machine ported sidewalls that help reduce the weight. It seems Pflueger is able to achieve this without sacrificing strength or durability. The spool is set up for braided line with rubber ridges; therefore it is not important to back it with mono.
Sealed carbon drag: This reel comes with a carbon fiber drag system is completely sealed to help prevent dirty and saltwater, and it will not overheat when you battle with that monster fish. It seems the compact knob design is a bit tough to adjust, especially in cold weather, when wearing gloves because you need to use the tips of your thumb and forefingers.
Carbon Fiber Handle: The first thing you will notice about this reel is its carbon fiber handle that gives it a unique look, especially when combined with a unique black and orange color. This handle is 21 percent lighter than the normal aluminum handle of the same size and it is corrosion-resistant. The retrieve mechanism is designed with an EVA handle that includes dimples on both sides for a better grip.
10 Ball Bearings System: This reel comes with a total of 10 ball bearings system made of stainless steel that is corrosion resistant and provides a very smooth overall feel. Another interesting feature of this reel is its sure-click bail design. This feature is made of sturdy aluminum and anti-twist titanium line roller, which help with how smooth the line winds onto the spool.
In conclusion, this is a great reel. Although it is not a cheap reel, and at the same time, I won’t say it’s expensive. The quality is evident from the moment you pick the reel and turn the carbon fiber knob as it seems to flow easily. You will also appreciate the sealed carbon fiber drag system that helps to prevent saltwater and dirt out of the reel mechanism even after accidentally immersed the reel when fishing.
