Trolling Rods: These rods are used to cast artificial flies; the rods are designed to drag lures and bait behind a moving boat. It allows the motion of the boat to drag the bait through the water. Trolling rods are mainly used for great lakes and ocean fishing. Tolling rods are hard with relatively fast action since a slow-action rod is too supple for trolling off a faster-moving boat.
Ultra-Light Rods: This rod is used to fished smaller fishes such as such as bass, trout, and several types of panfish. However, some fishermen also extend their usage to larger fishes. The light fishing line and some measured lures are less likely to scare off smaller fish; therefore they tend to catch more little fish than other different types of a rod. The usual bait choices for ultra-light rods are small spindles, wet flies, and plastic worms.
Surf Rods: These rods are generally used as part of fishing in the sea from the shore, rocks or any other type of shoreline. They look bigger than the normal spinning rod, and they usually have a length of about 3 to 4.2 m. So you can cast beyond the breaking surf where fish have the tendency to gather. Also, they are strong enough to cast large lure expected to hold the base in unpleasant water.
